독일에서 활동하는 이아련 작가는

흙이라는 흥미롭고 인상적인 매체를 활용한 결과물인

도자기의 수많은 창조적 가능성에 주목하여 작업을 합니다.

작가는 기능과 비기능, 제품과 작품, 실용과 비실용 양극단의

이야기 속에서 새로움을 탐구하며 발전해왔고, 

이를 넘어 작가의 개인적 경험을 토대로 작품을 통해 공감각적 경험을 위한 시도를 해오고 있습니다.

이 중 피노크에서는

한국에 처음으로 선보이는 작가의

작가의 'Imaginary drinks 상상 속의 맛' 시리즈 중 일부를

 피노크에서 만나볼 수 있습니다. 

섬세하게 표현된 작품의 질감과 색상을 통해

어린 시절 우리가 느낀 맛에 대한 기억을 되살려 상상해 봄과 동시에,

이를 통해 도자기의 새로운 가능성에 대한 상상을 함께 해볼 수 있을 것입니다.

Ahryun Lee is a Korean artist, who works in Germany,

working within the realm of ceramics, by particularly

concentrating on its medium ‘clay’ and the potential for

creating various forms and functions.

The artist has explored the gaps between two extremes:

for example, products vs artworks; and subsequently,

products to be practically used vs artworks for display.

She has also experimented the way to manifest

synaesthesia based on her personal experience.

Some of her series, ‘Imaginary Drinks’ (2016-2018), is on

view for the first time in Korea at FINORK.

Designer’s unique artworks, which are rendered human

senses as a tangible object with its delicate texture and

colours, provide viewers with a chance to evoke their

memories of certain flavour they have tasted before and

imagine the potential for ceramics.
